EOS launches 3D printer app

EOS has developed an app designed to train users of its M 290 metal 3D printer.

The company says that the app features extended reality (xR) technology, which combines augmented and virtual reality, to allow users to interact with a full-size model of the EOS M 290.

“Industrial 3D printing offers companies immense potential in the development of new applications,” said Volker Kunze, manager at AM Academy, EOS’ training segment. “The app can reduce operator training to just two or three days, at the same time decoupling training from machine availability on-site.”

The app is available for Apple and Android devices.
