Ceratizit launches wood machining brand

Hardmetal tooling specialist Ceratizit has developed CeraShield, a coated knife for solid wood machining, a KCR18+ grade for saw tips, knives and rectangular strips and a new 7° angle strobe blanks.

CeraShield knives have a long-lasting cutting edge and are compatible with existing tooling systems, while KCR18+ grade for saw tips, knives and rectangular strips is based on a specific metallurgical structure. It can improve protection against corrosion and oxidation to help ensure a high degree of process reliability, the company says. There is also an improved ratio of hardness to fracture.

The strobe blanks with a 7° angle on both sides can enable users to reduce material costs and grinding times.
