Webinar covers AM thermal conductivity

C-Therm, which makes thermal conductivity testing equipment, is running a webinar covering thermal conductivity in additive manufacturing (AM) on 3 June 2022.

The event, run by Bastian Bossen, a research associate at the Institute of Laser and Systems Technology, Technical University of Hamburg, will cover the uses for thermal conductivity with regards to the AM process and materials.

This includes measuring the effusivity and heat conductivity of different Ti-6Al-4V feedstocks used in 3D printing such as powder bed fusion – laser beam (PBF-LB). The dependency of typical feedstock quality criteria such as density, particle size distribution and flowability will also be discussed as well as quality control in AM processes.
