Materials giant Umicore says that it reached 7% revenue growth in 2015, and generated an average return on capital of 15%.
Turnover was €10,441.9 million, compared to €8,828.5 million in 2014. Revenues were €2,629.0 million, compared to €2,366.5 million in the previous year.
The company invested € 1.2 billion in growth projects and more than €700 million in research and development.
Umicore also surpassed some sustainability targets, with CO2 equivalent emissions reduced by 26% compared to the baseline year of 2006 and compared to a targeted reduction of 20%. The impact of metal emissions to water and air were down 26% and 37% respectively compared to the targeted reduction of 20%.
