Tungsten council updates framework

The Tungsten Industry Conflict Minerals Council has updated its materials framework document.

The framework, which was first established in 2013, is a way for members of the International Tungsten Industry Association (ITIA) and the Refractory Metals Association (RMA) to confirm that their tungsten products are sourced in accordance with the relevant OECD Guidance, US law and EU regulations.

It follows the passing of section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act in 2010, which aimed at stopping army groups in the DRC from illegally using mining profits.
