As part of the agreement, Oerlikon will supply its Balora Tech Pro physical vapor deposition (PVD) wear resistant coating to be used on components forming part of the PW800 turbofan engine made by aerospace specialist Pratt & Whitney.
“It’s a pleasure for us to sign this long-term contract with Oerlikon Balzers,” said Pedro Juarez, machined components commodity manager at ITP Aero. “I am positive this agreement will support our ambitious growth plans at our Mexico site and opens possibilities for further collaboration with Oerlikon.”
