The parts benefit from heat- and corrosion-resistant properties of Inconel 625 and 718, along with with additive manufacturing's ability to design internal and external features simultaneously from the ground up. This results in lighter parts, a crucial benefit to aerospace. Inconel 718 has the added material benefits of high tensile, creep and rupture strength. Inconel 718 has proven difficult to machine and cast in the past, with material benefits being lost or compromised during traditional manufacturing methods.
