SME conference covers 3D printing in Canada

The sessions will focus on leading additive manufacturing/3D printing technologies and innovations, including advanced manufacturing.

The panel will present a Canadian perspective on additive manufacturing and include members from the country’s federal organizations (the National Research Council (NRC), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Science Research Council (SSHRC)), university faculty and the private sector (Lockheed Martin, Magna International, Pratt & Whitney and Renishaw Canada).

“An event like the advanced manufacturing expo and the conference on additive manufacturing are excellent opportunities for educational institutions, SME’s and public research organizations to develop their networks and partnerships,” said Robert J Gerritsen, a professor at Mohawk College’s Additive Manufacturing Resource Centre and a conference speaker. “These relationships are essential to accelerate the pace of development and adoption of emerging technologies, such as 3D printing and additive manufacturing, in Canada.”
