SLM Solutions Group AG, a provider of metal based additive manufacturing technology, has opened a new office in Shanghai.
The subsidiary will operate as SLM Solutions Shanghai Co. Ltd and will cover the entire Chinese market.
‘The opening of the SLM Solutions office in Shanghai is the logical consequence of a strong requests from our customers and partners in China,’ said Dr. Markus Rechlin, CEO of SLM Solutions Group AG. ‘The new subsidiary of SLM Solutions in Shanghai is another step towards building a lasting presence in the Asian market and an investment in long-term customer relationships.’
The new subsidiary will provide the entire product portfolio of SLM Solutions, including SLM machines, consumables and service. In addition to sales, the company will focus on the development and expansion of service and dealer network throughout China, according to Dr. Rechlin.
‘I am delighted to be able to drive the expansion of SLM Solutions through a local presence in Shanghai,’ said Liu Hong, general manager of SLM Solutions Shanghai Co Ltd. ‘In China, the demand rises for systems of generative production technology with high-precision production of small series and prototypes.’
