3D printing company Sintavia, has opened its 55,000 ft2 additive manufacturing (AM) facility in Hollywood, Florida, USA. The new plant also serves as the company’s headquarters.
‘This new facility is the first of its kind in North America to offer large-scale AM production coupled with a robust aerospace quality management system,’ said Brian Neff, Sintavia CEO. ‘As we grow, it will serve as a template for future vertically-aligned advanced manufacturing facilities around the US and the world.’
The plant reportedly houses over US$25 million of equipment including medium and large scale metal printers, EDMs, post-processing machines, wet-booths and furnaces. It features separate manufacturing rooms segregated by alloy, a large-scale powder management system, an inert gas farm and a quality control room.
Sintavia says that the new facility can produce tens of thousands of parts. representing more than US$100 million of AM revenue annually.
