Sandvik wins SEK 2 bn mining order

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions has been awarded a SEK 2 bn contract to supply equipment for a potash mine based in Saskatchewan, Canada.

The contract, for Anglo-Australian mining and metals company BHP will begin in Q3 2023 and extends to 2026. An order value of approximately SEK 500 million will be reported in Q1, Q2 and Q4 2022, as well as Q2 2023.

According to Sandvik, the Jansen project could be the largest potash-producing mine in the world and is expected to operate for up to 100 years. Production is planned to start in 2027.
