Sandvik acquires tools supplier

Headquartered in Houston, USA, Inrock makes pilot hole bits, reamers, guidance systems, accessories and services for the premium maxi rig segment within HDD.

Sandvik and Inrock plan to develop their HDD product range to infrastructure applications such as oil and gas pipelines, water and sewer, telecommunications, electricity and alternative energy production and storage.

‘I am pleased to see that we leverage our materials knowledge and supply infrastructure to drive growth in the consumables and service business,’ said Henrik Ager, head of Sandvik’s product area Rock Tools product area.

In 2017 Inrock had revenues of US$46 million and 70 employees. It will be reported as part of the Rock Tools product area within Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology.
