Harris joined Bodycote in November 2008 and became chief executive in January 2009.
According to the company, a formal process to recruit Stephen’s successor will now commence.
“Stephen’s leadership of the Group over the last 15 years has been exceptional,” said Bodycote chair, Daniel Dayan. “We look forward to continuing to work with him as we move forward with the succession process.”
