Protech Chemicals Ltd of Montreal, Canada, has reached an agreement with NPA Coatings, a subsidiary of Nippon Paints Japan, to acquire the Seibert powder coatings business. The deal is expected to close by mid-November 2013.
Under the terms of the purchase, Protech will continue the manufacturing operations in Cleveland, Ohio. “The acquisition of NPA’s powder business allows us to expand into new markets, particularly the automotive sector in which NPA is a leader," said David Ades, managing director of Protech. "We are committed to maintaining the well-earned reputation that NPA has built over the past 20 years.”
