Project to promote AM in Italy

Automotive company Punch Torino and 3D printing company Beamit have formed a partnership that aims to promote additive manufacturing (AM) in Italy.

The two companies plan to find ways to industrialize direct metal laser sintering (DMLS), to make it more competitive compared to other processes used in the automotive industry.

Another goal is to improve process and product sustainability based on a circular economy framework, which involves reducing waste through recycling, repairing, and sharing materials.

“We are excited about this partnership with Punch Torino, a company highly specialized in engineering research and development, that will allow us to lead Italian additive technology toward high industrial standards,” said Andrea Scanavini, Beamit general manager. “This contribution will increase competitiveness in the European market, including through careful cost optimization and an eye toward environmental sustainability.”
