The Powder Metallurgy Association of India, an association of Indian and overseas PM professionals from industry, research and academia, is conducting a one-day workshop on Powder Injection Moulding, or PIM, in Mumbai.The event will be held at the Ramada Powai Hotel & Convention Centre Powai, Mumbai, on Saturday 24 August 2013. The event covers both metal, MIM, and ceramic, or CIM, injection molding. The keynote speaker is Prof Sundar V Atre.Powder Injection Molding, state the organisers, recently took some large leaps forward. In 2012 PIM technology accounted for about $1.45 billion in sales. It is an impressive performance, rising from modest sales of $6 million in 1986 when there were about 30 active operations.The PIM 2013 Workshop presents a technology overview for new and prospective entrants to the PIM business.
