PM microstructures website updated

The MPIF says that its PM microstructures has been recently updated.

The organization has improved its user friendliness and added several new materials including 300 and 400 series stainless steel alloys.

The website is aimed at PM parts manufacturers and the end user community to help them interpret PM microstructures when engineering new components, designing new materials, solving various types of quality problems and investigating quality control.

The user will be able to reference materials processed by conventional sintering, elevated temperature sintering, and accelerated cooling rates in order to determine phase and structures of the materials.

Specimen preparation and proper selection of etchants is also covered, the MPIF said.
