Plansee shows support for conflict minerals council

The working group is an initiative of the tungsten industry dedicated to promoting greater transparency in the realm of tungsten procurement. Tungsten from TI-CMC-compliant companies is only procured from responsible, conflict-free sources.

The requirement for socially and ecologically responsible procurement is set out in Plansee’s Code of Conduct and the company’s purchasing guidelines ensure that no materials are sourced from regions of conflict.

Plansee’s procurement of tantalum has already been certified as compliant with ethical and social standards by the EICC/GeSI initiative and it has openly agreed to adhere to the TI-CMC commitment. This also includes the due diligence guidance for supply chains of minerals from conflict-affected and high-risk areas as issued by the OECD and is designed to support companies in meeting their disclosure obligations in respect of the US Securities and Exchange Commission rule on conflict minerals.

Plansee's tungsten supplier GTP is also fully compliant with the TI-CMC Commitment and is a founding member of the working group.
