Oxford Instruments America Calibration Laboratory in Concord, Mass., Earns ISO 17025 Accreditation

Oxford Instruments America, Inc. is pleased to announce that its calibration laboratory is now accredited to ISO/ IEC 17025:2005 through the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation, or A2LA. The ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is the main industry standard for testing and calibration laboratories, confirming effectiveness of quality management system and accuracy and reliability of tests within the laboratory.

This new accreditation for its laboratory in Concord, Mass., complements Oxford Instrument’s existing A2LA compliance in its Scotts Valley, Calif., laboratory, which has been compliant with the A2LA accreditation for many years.

“We have always been dedicated to quality and reliability of the tests and calibrations we carry out for our customers, not only for our coating thickness gauges," said Kelly Marchand, customer support manager. "Now, the A2LA accreditation acknowledges our accuracy, effectiveness and our competence as leading calibration laboratory.”

Oxford Instruments’ coatings thickness gauges measure a broad range of material on almost any metal substrate, whether ferrous or non-ferrous. Typical applications include automotive refinishing, paint & powder coatings, electroplating and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) copper surface and plated thru-hole measurements. Within these industries there are quality control and regulatory compliance procedures that insist on regular calibration and certification of measurement instruments to a known set of standards.
