The Additive Manufacturing Conference (AMC) 2015, taking place from 20-21 October 2015, in Knoxville, Tennessee, will offer two factory tours at the Local Motors Microfactory and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory manufacturing demonstration facility (MDF).
The MDF is home to the Big Area additive manufacturing facility where Local Motors and ORNL have collaborated to produce the world’s first production 3D printed vehicle.
Oak Ridge group leader, Dr Lonnie Love and Local Motors co-founder, Jay Rogers will highlight the AMC technical program examining design, material, machinery and applications technology used in metal additive manufacturing.
‘Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Local Motors [...[ are true supporters of [AM] technology,’ said event director, Allison Miller. ‘Their support is evidenced by their willingness to deliver keynote presentations, offer technical guidance and open their doors as host of the Additive Manufacturing Conference facility tours.’
