New MIM factory showcases Elnik furnaces

Elnik manufactures furnaces in for one step debind and sinter metal injection moulding. The process begins by combining metallic powders with a plastic binder, which is then injected into a mould.  The parts then go through Elnik’s debind and sinter furnace, finishing as highly complex metal parts.

MIM has enjoyed rapid growth as benefits of the technology have become apparent. Hock Sachsen GmbH started to produce MIM parts in 1997 under the direction of Dr Frank Weber and, said Elnik Systems’ CEO Claus Joens.  Elnik began supplying machines to Hock Sachsen in 2002. There is now room in a new facility for additional furnaces, Joens told Metal Powder Report.
