MPIF reports successful compaction/tooling seminar

The MPIF says that its latest PM Parts Compacting/Tooling Seminar attracted 40 attendees with backgrounds and experience levels ranging from entry-level engineer to experienced tool and die maker.

The seminar, held about every 18 months, dates back to 1989 and continues to educate a variety of people throughout the industry, mainly catering to powder metallurgy parts and product fabricators.

Some of the presentation topics this year included mechanical presses for high-volume compaction and design, and die-wall lubrication and warm compaction.

The course is designed for those who want to expand their knowledge of compacting and tooling technology, improve their opportunities to advance, and for those who are looking to deepen their understanding in this specialized area of powder metallurgy.
