LPW releases latest laboratory services datasheet

LPW Technology Ltd, which supplies metal powders for the additive manufacturing (AM) industry, has published its latest laboratory service datasheet.

‘Carney Flow Testing for Metal Powders’ explains when this test should be conducted, and how it is undertaken, the company said.

‘The Carney Flow test is one of the most recognised tests for measuring powder flow,’ added Lisa Holman, LPW quality engineer. ’The ASTM B964 standard recommends it for powders that do not readily flow through the Hall Flow funnel, and it’s one of the comprehensive portfolio of analyses we undertake in our in-house laboratory. In addition, to enable end-users to assess powder flow on their own premises, we have developed the LPW PowderFlow kit which contains all the equipment necessary to check not only Hall and Carney flow, but also apparent density and angle of repose.’
