Kyocera acquires cutting tool manufacturers

Kyocera has acquired BFT Hartmetall Werkzeuge GmbH, a German manufacturer of carbide cutting tools and GSB GmbH, which makes oscillation knife drives.

BFT was founded in 1987 and makes tools for oscillation machining used in the aerospace, automotive, packaging, engineering and textile industries. Founded in 2018, GSB produces the drives that are used with BFT tools.

“Kyocera Unimerco will welcome BFT and GSB into the group and use their expertise in oscillation machining to expand the capability and offer customers a wider range of products,” the company said.
