Warren, Mich.-based KC Jones Plating Co., a leader in engineered metal finishing, has appointed Jeffrey Stone vice president of operations. Stone will be responsible for the operations of the Michigan and Indiana facilities. He will be implementing LEAN manufacturing initiatives and other advanced manufacturing techniques throughout the company. He will help the management team execute growth plans that are currently underway at KC Jones. Stone will be focused on improving operations while building employee, customer and vendor relationships.“Jeff is the perfect addition to KC Jones, since he brings a fully rounded career that enables him to help the KC Jones team transition from a good company to a great company!” said Brian Harrick, vice president of product development and quality. “We look forward to his contribution and passion to succeed.”
Stone has extensive experience in all facets of manufacturing and materials management. Prior to joining KC Jones, Stone was the Divisional Product Line Purchasing Manager for Delphi Thermal & Interior Systems. Stone developed and managed purchasing, supply chain and advanced quality teams in Mexico, Brazil, Western and Eastern Europe, China, India and Korea. Stone was responsible for annual material purchases of $850 million. Stone led the HVAC product line to exceed cost-reduction goals, saving Delphi Thermal more than $23 million, or 3.8%, in 2007. He also exceeded the 2008 goals of 4% savings in compressors, saving the company $19.7 million. Additionally, Stone helped the HVAC and compressor teams develop new initiatives in logistics, packaging, warehousing, and design to maximize savings potential. He also implemented workshop savings for the consolidation of inventory, localizing supply sources, reducing inventory and logistics costs to the company.
