Malvern Panalytical has updated its Mastersizer 3000 particle sizing instrument with a new image data sensor.
According to the company, its Hydro Insight uses real-time particle imaging and flow cell technology to generates quantitative data on particle shape, alongside particle size data from the Mastersizer 3000. Using of high-resolution imaging with high-range laser diffraction data provides a more comprehensive overview of materials than laser diffraction alone, according to Malvern.
The Hydro Insight can also help show how a combination of particle size and shape affects material behavior and make it easier to troubleshoot unexpected particle size results, the company said.
