H.C. Starck has partnered with the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Center for Heat Treating Excellence (CHTE).
The CHTE is an alliance between the industrial sector and university researchers that aims to address short and long-term needs in the heat treating and thermal processing industry. Members can help select quality research projects that help them solve today’s business challenges globally.

H.C. Starck focuses on developing new materials for high temperature vacuum and inert atmosphere furnaces for industrial processes such as annealing, brazing, heat treating, hot isostatic pressing (HIP), melting, pre-heating, powder processing, sintering, tempering and metal injection molding (MIM). It plans to help improve furnace cycle time, maintain temperature uniformity, and reduce carbon contamination.
