H C Starck tungsten sold to investor

H C Starck reports that its tungsten powders business has been acquired by Masan Resources, based in Vietnam.

According to the company, H C Starck’s Tungsten Powders is one of the world's largest tungsten deposits and associated refining facilities outside China. It develops and produces powders made from the refractory metal tungsten and its compounds, and also uses a recycling process to extract tungsten from secondary raw materials. H C Starck Tungsten Powders has around 540 employees across three production sites in Germany, Canada and China.

‘The entry of a strategic owner on time for the hundredth anniversary we are celebrating this year marks the beginning of a new era for our company,’ said Dr Hady Seyeda, CEO of H C Starck Tungsten Powders. ‘Direct access to primary raw materials as a complement to our recycling expertise means even more flexibility and security for our customers all over the world.’
