GKN works on eVTOL aircraft

GKN Aerospace has developed an electrical wiring interconnection system (EWIS) and integration expertise for a prototype electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

This is part of its partnership with Vertical Aerospace which focuses on the development of the latter’s VX4 all-electric demonstrator aircraft.

The companies next plan to integrate the wing and EWIS for the certifiable aircraft.

“Our partnership with GKN Aerospace, a leading global technology supplier, is providing the aerostructures and EWIS systems in the VX4, accelerating our development and signifying great progress for electric aviation as a whole,” said Michael Cervenka, president of Vertical.
