GKN Powder Metallurgy has formalized its partnership with 3D printer supplier EOS GmbH. GKN plans to provide its metal powder, EOS StainlessSteel 316L VPro, for use in EOS’ 3D printers.
The company says that the new metal powder when processed using selective laser melting (SLM), will reduce production time by nearly 70% and overall cost by 50%. Our customers know that speed and cost are key benefits to metal 3D printing, and this partnership delivers on those needs.
GKN says that it has also partnered with PostNord AB, which works in logistics in the Nordic region.
‘Collaborating with PostNord AB bridges the logistics gap we see in the marketplace and ensures that 3D printed parts get to manufacturers efficiently and on time,’ GKN said.
