German/Korean research agreement

Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hanyang University in Korea to host joint activities to promote education, research and industrial cooperation in Germany and Korea.

Fraunhofer’s focus is on the industrial implementation of research results through to the manufacture of prototype components and their transfer to industrial application. According to the organization, it will focus on additive manufacturing (selective electron beam melting, 3D screen printing, fused filament fabrication), melt spinning, melt extraction, spark plasma sintering and molding processes.
