The Monroe County Business Development Corp. is alerting area companies that they might have a chance to do business with Ford Motor Co. or some of its suppliers. According to an article in the Monroe Evening News, the Michigan Economic Development Corp.'s Pure Michigan Business Connect program is seeking Michigan firms that can provide equipment or services related to manufacturing construction, office/building supplies, warehousing/logistics, industrial equipment, marketing, information technology and labor and human resources. The needs range from aluminum anodizing to construction services to janitorial work to plastic extruding and a variety of other needs. It's part of a concerted effort by Ford and its suppliers to do business with Michigan-based firms.
Ford and the MEDC will host an invite-only matchmaking summit on Tuesday, March 21, in Dearborn, Mich. Any Monroe County companies that believe they might be qualified should visit http://puremichiganb2b.com/b2b-web/#ford to apply for an opportunity to attend the summit. Ford and its partners will select which companies will be invited based on the responses received. All invitees will receive at least one 20-minute, pre-arranged private meeting.
The summit will include participating buying teams from Ford, BASF, Lear, Continental, Team Detroit, Siemens, Walbridge, KUKA, Takata, Bosch, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Delphi, Dana, IAC, Piston Group, Faurecia, Dura, Aristeo, Autoliv, Comau, Cooper Standard, Detroit Thermal, Dakkota, Denso, Detroit Manufacturing Systems, Devon Industrial Group, Flex-n-Gate, Exhibit Works, MAG, MPS and SET Enterprises.
Invitations will be sent on a rolling basis. Once all private buyer-supplier meeting times are filled, the application link will close. Priority deadline for submission is the close of business March 1.
