The Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS) has announced its 2021 award winners.
According to the organization, the FEMS European Materials Gold Medal was awarded to Professor José Manuel Torralba, Materials Innovation Prize to Professor Elvira Fortunato, while Dr Idalina José Monteiro Gonçalves received the FEMS Materials Science & Technology prize.
‘I am very honored to be awarded with the FEMS Gold Metal, but also overwhelmed,’ said Jose Torralba. ‘All previous winners are a reference in my academic career. To belong to the same list is to me much more than a prize. It is another reason to still work hard in this exciting field.’
