The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) has updated its Global Powder Metallurgy Property Database (GPMD).
The database now has a new interface and cloud-based server, improving the response time for detailed searches, the EPMA said.
The GPMD was launched in 2004 as a joint project between the EPMA, Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) and Japan Powder Metallurgy Association (JPMA) and includes test data covering different material grades collected from a wide of sources. Originally covering the ferrous PM industry, the GPMD has been updated a number of times over the years to include the nonferrous PM and MIM sectors. Information has since been added covering strain-controlled fatigue data, along with the ability for users to reference microstructural phases in materials processed by conventional sintering, elevated temperature sintering, accelerated post-sintering cooling, and more.
In 2021, there are plans to further expand the GPMD to include specific metal additive manufacturing data. The EPMA says that anyone wishing to assist with this in any way can contact Kenan Boz at the EPMA.
