EPMA summer school registration now open

The EPMA Summer School, now in its 13th year, is a five-day residential experience, consisting of a series of technical lectures presented by a range of PM experts from industry and academia. The 2013 Summer School will be hosted by Professor Alberto Molinari and his team from the University of Trento.

Topics to be covered will include manufacture of metal powders, metal injection moulding, modelling, sintering and hot isostatic pressing. Participants will be able to discuss and solve problems as well as get hands on experience of various PM processes in the university laboratories. Within the programme there will also be the opportunity to visit a PM component manufacturer.

The Summer School is designed for young graduate designers, engineers and scientists from disciplines such as materials science, design, engineering , manufacturing or metallurgy. Graduates under 35 and who have obtained their degree from a European institution are eligible to apply.

“This is a great opportunity for students and people new to the powder metallurgy industry as it will provide a good foundation of knowledge to build on,” said Joan Hallward, EPMA's summer school coordinator.

The fee of €575 covers tuition, all course materials and the shared accommodation. The 2013 Summer School brochure, which includes the course schedule, is available to download via the EPMA Summer School website.

The closing date for applications is 12th April 2013.
