Element acquires testing company

Element Materials Technology, which specializes in testing, inspection, and certification services, has completed its acquisition of National Technical Systems (NTS).

According to Element, NTS supplies provider of qualification testing, inspection, and certification services in North America for range of industries including space, defense, aerospace and connected technologies.

It is based in California, USA and covers product qualification and certification, supply chain and product/process auditing, and a range of testing services including electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI), materials and climatic testing. NTS’ inspection division operates under the Unitek name while its certification division, NQA, is one of the largest global ISO registrars in the world, according to Element. It has 29 laboratories in North America.

 

“The acquisition of NTS […] will strengthen Element’s growing platform in North America and enhance its capabilities in telecoms, connected automotive, medical device and battery testing, all critical growth drivers,” a press release said. Plans are for Element to appoint 1,000 new employees over the next two years to meet increased demand.
