According to the organization, Jaffe was widely recognized for his consulting work in research, process and product development, design, manufacturing, and production. He spent over 50 years leading the annual MPIF Basic PM Short Course and was known as the “man with the popcorn press,” a demonstration press that dramatically illustrates particulate compaction.
He was a past president of MPIF and the Powder Metallurgy Parts Association and received the MPIF Distinguished Service to Powder Metallurgy Award in 1979.
