Columbia Chemical Promotes Mark Schario

Columbia Chemical, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of zinc and zinc-alloy plating additives,has promoted Mark Schario to the position of Vice President, Technologies. Schario brings more than 30 years of industry experience, specializing in automotive and aerospace finishing. The position of vice president opened up recently when long-time employee Rick Holland announced his retirement. Both men worked together over the past several months to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. Schario now oversees the company’s entire technology section, which includes research & development, technical support, and quality control. Additionally, he will continue to function as the company’s top liaison to the automobile industry, and will continue to serve as committee chairman to ASTM B08 on Metallic and Inorganic Coatings. He is a member of the National Association for Surface Finishing and has earned the industry designation of CEF/Certified Electroplater-Finisher.
