Hardmetal company Ceratizit, part of the Plansee Group, is celebrating Plansee’s  100 years of business.

The company, based in Luxembourg makes cutting tools and is specialist in hard materials. It was formed in 2002 following a merger of Plansee Tizit and Luxemburg-based Cerametal.

‘We are proud of our 100 years of expertise, which after all amounts to a fruitful combination of pioneering thinking and innovative creativity,’ said Thierry Wolter, board member at Ceratizit.

‘Additive manufacturing of cemented carbide, digital solutions, the use of artificial intelligence to optimise production processes and products […] point the way to increased sustainability and efficiency.’
