Carpenter contracts with Rolls-Royce

The materials will be used on current and future Rolls-Royce engines, in applications such as rings, blades, vanes, and airfoils. Demand for the material will come from Rolls-Royce in the UK and the US and its global suppliers, while the materials will be manufactured at Carpenter’s Reading, PA, and Athens, AL, specialty steelmaking facilities.

The five-year agreement will run until 2017 and is valued at around US$75 million.

“We are very excited about formalizing our new strategic relationship with Rolls-Royce,” said William A Wulfsohn, president & CEO of Carpenter Technology.
