The paper was selected from 60 technical papers submitted to the ninth Tungsten Conference sponsored by the MPIF in cooperation with the Refractory Metals Association and APMI International. The technical papers reviewed contained a broad range of topics including powder production and processing of hardmaterials and refractory metals, alloys and composites, microstructures and properties, coatings, and papers that provide broad reviews of specific areas. Around 40% of the papers were related to hardmetals, with the remaining papers covering range of topics in refractory metals and composites.
