3D printing company Renishaw has been presented with the award for IT Research and Development (R&D) Engineering Services Software at the Maharashtra Information Technology (IT) Awards in India.

The Maharashtra IT Awards promote entrepreneurship in the IT industry across the state. Renishaw employs around 400 people in India, including a manufacturing facility and an additive manufacturing (AM) solutions center. The company has a team of 140 software engineers in India to develop software products to complement the company's AM technology, along with metrology and Raman spectroscopy.

In particular, Renishaw India played a key role in the development of QuantAM build preparation software for use on Renishaw AM systems.

‘Renishaw produces industry-leading hardware and systems for metrology and additive manufacturing,’ said Vikas Vikas Saxena, director and head of software at Renishaw India. ‘The team use simulation and abstractions to develop the tools needed to support the company's product portfolio, an essential part of our operations.’
