Aubert and Duval overhauls French heat treatment line

Superalloy manufacturer Aubert and Duval says that it plans to overhaul one of its heat treatment lines in its Pamiers, France, metal processing plant.

The company’s heat treatment technology is used to modify the microstructure of our materials and parts to achieve the specifications required.

Almost all the parts produced in Pamiers undergo heat treatment procedures, and performance at this stage of the process has a major impact in terms lead times and our costs, Aubert and Duval said.

‘Having a new, fully modernized and automated heat treatment line is vital for increasing our capacity in terms of the materials of the future, particularly superalloys, whose technical specifications are extremely stringent,’ the company said.

The new line will also have a redesigned layout to improve safety, digitized process and quality control, modern tools designed to adapt to the needs of different markets, and offer a 6% reduction of energy consumption and an 8% reduction in CO2 emissions across the entire site.
