ASTM approval for vanadium-free titanium

Daido Steel Ltd says that its DAT57M vanadium-free titanium alloy has been registered under the ASTM standard B348/B348M.

According to the company, DAT57M has 6% aluminum and 1% iron and is expected to contribute to be more sustainable than alloys containing vanadium, such as Ti-6Al-4V alloy.

It can be used to make automotive parts, fasteners and industrial components.
