Arcam launches nickel base superalloy process for 3D printing

The machine material parameters and mechanical testing for the process were carried out in collaboration with the US Department of Energy’s manufacturing demonstration facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In 2012, Arcam and Oak Ridge signed an agreement to promote Arcam's EBM technology in the US.

"With the introduction of the Inconel 718 our customers in the aerospace industry can now further expand the range of components that they produce in their EBM machines,” says Magnus René, CEO of Arcam.

The material properties comply with the requirements of UNS N07718 and ASTM F3055-14.
