America Makes announces winners of MAGMA project call

America Makes has named the awardees of its Maturation of Additive Geometric Management Approaches for High Mach Applications (MAGMA) Project Call.

A team led by Boeing will receive funding of US$500,000 from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to improve additive manufacturing (AM) technologies for high Mach applications, the organization said.

“We are so pleased by the support of our membership to advance the supply chains understanding of AM technologies for a variety of high Mach applications,” said Brandon D Ribic, America Makes technology director. “These efforts will serve to benefit the manufacturing of a wide variety of products which feature complex geometric features.  It is anticipated important lessons learned from these efforts will help to improve yield of complex structures incorporating AM components.”
