America Makes announces US$500,000 project call

America Makes and the US Air Force Research Laboratory has announced a new project call worth US$500,000 covering the additive manufacturing (AM) supply chain.

According to the organization, its leveraging additive for high velocity applications (LAVA) project intends to ‘mitigate variances in additive manufacturing (AM) high velocity product development to help advance these capabilities within the domestic supply chain’.

America Makes suggests that 3D printing can be promoted more in the high velocity/Mach systems industry.

“We are excited for this opportunity to address these important issues that influence our ability to improve AM product yield,” said America Makes technology director Dr Brand Ribic.  “The scope of the project call provides our membership a wide range of potential opportunities to evaluate various AM processes and material systems.”

The deadline for full project proposal submissions is 4 March 2022.
