AM symposium scheduled for 2019

Sandia National Laboratories plans to run a minisymposium entitled ‘Additive Manufacturing of Metals: Modeling Applications in Material and Part Qualification’ at the 2019 Finite Elements in Fluids (FEF) conference. The conference will be held from 31 March - 3 April 2019 in Chicago, IL USA.

Submission is now open for abstract to the minisymposium based on recent research in the field, the organizers say, via the FEF website before 15 November 2018, selecting Minisymposium 307.

The event will focus on recent and current research findings on topics that include, but not are limited to:

  • Residual stress evolution and control
  • Defect prediction
  • As-built material and part performance
  • Microstructure prediction and optimization
  • Reduced order models for efficient part-scale simulation.
