Additive Industries focuses on streamlining AM

3D metal printer manufacturer Additive Industries and Makino, which makes milling machines, have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to form a joint project to streamline the 3D printing process.

The two companies plan to develop a process chain in which metal additive manufacturing (AM) and post processing technologies work more closely together.

‘Our engineering teams have established capabilities in complex five-axis machining applications involving adaptive machining, scanning of components and high accuracy machining,’ said Neo Eng Chong, CEO and president of Makino Asia. ‘We are very pleased to be working with an industry leader such as Additive Industries to accelerate the industrialization of 3D metal printing.’
