Acquisition of Sandvik powder business

Metal Technology Co Ltd, a metal processing company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, has reportedly acquired Swedish-based Sandvik Powder Solutions AB.

Sandvik Powder Solutions makes near-net shape products used primarily for the oil and gas industries, while Metal Technology Co focuses on metal processing services, including heat treatment and HIP (hot isostatic pressing). In 2010, the company established a subsidiary in China to build business relationships with customers in Asia.

According to the companies, the acquisition is expected to further expand Metal Technology’s overseas business and improve the group’s near-net shape technologies.
